Bacari Racing Stable LLC’s GOLDEN EURO, trained by Joe Petalino, was a gate-to-wire winner in the 14th Running of the $100,000 USA Stakes for three-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles over a firm turf course on Memorial Day at Lone Star Park.

Ridden by Bryan McNeil, GOLDEN EURO set the pace through fractions of 24.25, 49.37 and 1:12 and held on gamely to thwart the furious rush from the back of the pack by Shoot It’s War, who missed by a neck. B’wanagoldmine was third, another 1-1/4 lengths behind. The final time for the race was 1:42.35.

With the victory, the 3-year-old, bay son of Eurosilver who was bred in partnership with Happy Ours Stable recorded his third career win in his seventh start and increased his lifetime earnings to $88,950 with the $60,000 winner’s share.
